Former Coventry City youngster Greg Abbott was today a winner at Wembley when the team he manages Carlisle United won the Johnstones Paint Trophy Final.

Carlisle had been beaten in last year's Final by Southampton but this year against Brentford, Peter Murphy, who became a father two days ago, scored the only goal in the 12th minute and the Cumbrians held on to win.

Abbott who hails from Wyken, admitted to Sky Sports that he was delighted to have won and was pleased for the team and the 13,000 fans who had travelled from Cumbria.
