Coventry City are now eight points away from safety after their 3-0 defeat at Northampton.

The Sky Blues, who have taken two points from 36, remain four points behind Oldham who lost 2-1 at home to Bradford City.

Bury are 21st after a 3-3 draw against Walsall with Swindon now fifth from bottom on 29 points after losing 1-0 at eighth placed Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury sixth from bottom after a 1-1 draw at Gillingham.

Scunthorpe United are back top of the table after a 3-2 win over Port Vale with Bolton third after a 2-1 home defeat to Charlton with Fleetwood still fourth after a 1-1 draw against Southend United.

Elsewhere, MK Dons won 4-0 at Peterborough United.
