Coventry City manager Russell Slade is not continuing his interest in Dean Hammond.
The former Ipswich player has been training with City this week but Slade told: “Dean has been in and trained with us but I had a very nice text from him yesterday and he doesn’t feel he could get back to the level that would be required to play League One football again so I think he’s going to move on in his life and career now.
“But he was a really nice guy in the couple of days he was with us so we wish him all the best.”
Slade did say that another player would be coming in on trial next week and said: “I have got one coming in on Monday with formerly a big reputation but I’ll tell you a bit more about that after the weekend.”
