Former Coventry City defender Richard Shaw has said that the Sky Blues are missing Danny Fox and Scott Dann.

Now, manager of Millwall's Reserve team and matchday assistant to Kenny Jackett, Shaw who was highly popular during his time at Highfield Road and the Ricoh Arena said to the CT: They were a big loss because they are very good players.

"Both have since proved what good players they are at Celtic and Birmingham City respectively and they are sorely missed.

"I wouldn't go as far as to say it's demoralising but you do sometimes wonder which way the club is going to go if they start selling their best players.

"Unfortunately, finances dictate a lot of clubs' thinking in football."

Shaw does though believe that City and his former club Crystal Palace can still mount a play-off challenge, saying: "I would like to think that both clubs will be pushing towards the play-offs come the end of the season.

"In that division, once you get a couple of back to back wins, all of a sudden you have six points and it makes a hell of a difference.

"it is amazing what happens once you get a bit of confience. We have seen clubs come from a long way back in recent years, Crystal Palace being one of them and I think both clubs can achieve that."
