City May Miss Out On Best Deal

Coventry City could miss out on signing Leon Best.

The 20 year old striker seems determined to leave Southampton after failing to sign a new contract. Best, who netted four times for The Saints last season, is also attracting interest from his home town club Nottingham Forest. It is thought that regular football, something which Iain Dowie cannot guarantee, will persuade the striker to move to the City ground rather than the Ricoh Arena.

Talking of home town club's, Danny Nardiello has again stalled on a new contract at Barnsley and could be a City player on July 1st. The Cov Kid, whose father Donato also played for the Sky Blues, is expected to make a decision about whether to join City towards the end of this month.

Former Sky Blue Richie Partridge could be joining Chester City. The winger who was popular during his time at Highfield Road had a clause in his contract which allowed him to leave Rotherham if the Millers were relegated which they were.
