If, as expected, Birmingham City sell former Coventry City defender Scot Dann, the Sky Blues would benefit from the sell on clause that was part of the deal that saw the player go to Birmingham for a fee of around £3.5m two years ago.

Dann is one of the players who is expected to be leaving St Andrews this summer and he is attracting interest from some of the bigger clubs in the Premier League with Liverpool, Arsenal and Stoke all said to be interested.

The sell on clause is thought to be 10% and as the 24 year old player is currently valued at between £10-£15m, Coventry City could be in line for £1-£1.5m windfall.

City paid around £1m for Dann when they bought him, along with Dan Fox, from Wallsall in January 2008.

It is believed that Tony Pulis of Stoke has offered £12m plus Ricardo Fuller for Dann, but Birmingham are holding out for a better offer.

Dann, born in Liverpool and a lifelong Reds fan is attracting interest from Kenny Dalgliesh, but Dann could favour a move to Arsenal and Champions League football.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has indicated that he will strengthen his defence and is also showing interest in Dann.
