Coventry City became mathematically safe of avoiding relegation to League One when Ipswich Town beat struggling Norwich City 3-2 at Portman Road this afternoon.

The Canaries struck first through a 16th minute Mooney goal but Ipswich were level eight minutes later through Quinn.

In the second half, Giovanni Di Santos put Ipswich in front with a 62nd minute penalty. In the final minutes, first Jon Stead added a third for Town before Sammy Clingan slotted home a penalty for Norwich.

The defeat leaves Norwich and Southampton as well as already relegated Charlton unable to catch City's total of 53 points so far.

Relegation haunted Newcastle United lost 1-0 at Spurs whilst bottom side West Brom lost 4-2 at Man City.

Everton will meet Chelsea in the FA Cup Final after a penalties victory against Manchester United in the second semi-final at Wembley.
