Coventry City are unlikely to sign Peterbrough strikers Craig Mackail-Smith and Arron McLean.

After a good performance from the duo on Saturday st the Ricoh Arena, Coventry City again enquired about signing the players in January after having one bid already rejected.

Barry Fry does not believe that City have enough money to land the duo and said to the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "Coventry told me straight after our game there on Saturday they wanted to sign Aaron and Craig in January so I told them our asking price.

"They are going to discuss it at a board meeting and get back to me but believe me there isn't enough money in Coventry to get either of them.

"We are not interested in selling Craig anyway. If we were we would be more likely to sell him to a Premier League club because there has been a bit of interest.

"But our chairman is keen to keep as much of the squad together as possible because even if we suffered the misfortune of relegation we would have a strong team for a League One campaign."
