City Ladies To Fundraise Before City V Port Vale

Players and officials from Coventry City Ladies will be fundraising at tomorrow's game between Coventry City and Port Vale.

City Ladies, who are at the top of the WPL Northern Division table after winning the Southern League last year, receive no financial support and have to find their own funds in order to play at the highest level outside the WSL.

Andy Stickley, CCLFC Club Secretary said: “As well as vital contributions from key sponsors and supporters, the club relies on fundraising to operate both our junior and senior teams.

“It is always a great opportunity when we get to link up with the men’s team and the profile and support that goes with it.

“We will be around the ground all day to encourage supporters to come and talk to us to find out more about the club.

“We have experienced tremendous success in recent years, both on the pitch with the senior team and with the development of our junior programme and engaging more youngsters with the sport.

“But we are ambitious in wanting to drive the club on to the next level and International Women’s Day is a fantastic opportunity to raise money, and awareness about what we are doing.
