Coventry City Ladies won their opening pre-season fixture with a 3-1 win. against Sheffield FC this afternoon.
At Sphinx Drive, Courtney Sweetman-Kirk gave Paul Cudby's side the lead with a header from a cross from the right.
Sheffield levelled on the stroke of half-time when Jodie Michelson scored at the 2nd attempt after sky blues concede too easily from throw in.
Seven minutes into the second half, City were back in front when a quick break led by Jade Formaston, played in Sweetman-Kirk who showed great pace and delivered a low cross which was finished into an empty net by Danni Saulter.
Paul Cudby sent on Nicole Dale and debutante Destiny Toussaint for his two goalscorers and Toussaint was unlucky when she got to a Simpkins shot and saw her effort pushed away for a corner.
In the 89th minute, Gina Gulding lobbed the keeper to round off a good afternoon for the Sky Blues.
