Coventry City Ladies are back to winning ways after beating Derby County 6-2 in a highly entertaining FA WPL Northern Division fixture.

The Sky Blues were looking to get back to winning ways after losing to leaders Sheffield FC and made twoo changes with Emma Hollingsworth now back at the club after playing for Forest and Notts County and fit again Jade Formaston both starting.

They took on a Derby side which has former City Ladies coaches Stuart and Neil Wilson on the sidelines, former City keeper Sarah Morgan in goal with another City player in Ellie Towers in defence

.

City were the first to have a shot with a neat flick from Helen Dermody falling for her to get in a shot at Morgan.

It was Dermody who gave City the lead in the sixth minute when she raced onto a through ball and slotted it low into the net.

In the 13th minute, Wood saved from Precious Hamilton, who won a corner five minutes later.
Derby drew level in the 24th minute when Melissa Johnson reacted to a cross and bundled the ball into the net.

Amber Hughes won City a corner which was followed by another in the 26th minute.

City won another corner six minutes and the Sky Blues were back in front when a peach of a corner from Dermody was headed in at the far post by Destiny Toussaint.

In the 38th minute, the Sky Blues put together a good move which saw Amber Hughes doing very well on the right and cutting the ball back for Ashley Neville, who cut inside before unleashing an unstoppable shot past Morgan and delighting a decent sized crowd.

City continued to create chances with a good move seeing Callan Barber go close in the 52nd minute.

A fourth goal was always on the cards and it came in the 54th minute thanks to Annabel Johnson getting into a good position and lashing a powerful shot into the net.

Denied a penalty when Toussaint was pulled down. Dermody won a corner with a rasping shot.
Morgan made two good saves before the Sky Blues had a fifth when Amber Hughes scrambled home on the hour mark.

Morgan pushed a 64th minute shot onto the bar and Toussaint just missed a Hughes cross as the Sky Blues continued to lay seige to the Derby goal.

In the 70th minute, Morgan saved from Neville after a great move but Derby pulled a goal back in the 72nd minute with a lovely chip from Precious Hamilton.

Dermody missed and substitute Gauntlett had a shot blocked as City, with Hollingsworth and Lynch solid at the back and Formaston having a storming game in midfield, won an 83rd minute corner.

City attacked again and Helen Dermody got in and lifted the ball past Morgan and into the net in the 84th minute for her second goal and City's sixth.
