Coventry City Ladies are through to the Women''s FA Cup Fourth Round after a 2-0 victory at Aston Villa

This much re-arranged Women''s FA Cup Third Round tie finally went ahead at Boldmere St Michaels, much to the relief of all concerned and the first half was a tale of two keepers.

In the 20th minute, Emma Follis was tripped and Villa were awarded a penalty. Up-stepped Carly Davis but City keeper Sue Wood dived to her right to brilliantly push away the kick which was cleared.

City, in their new kit sponsored by Archer Bassett, started to put the pressure on the home goal and Villa keeper Megan Walsh was forced into some good saves to deny Kerry Bartlett and Emily Simpkins who had a fine game in midfield.

Graham Abercrombie''s side were more than happy to play the physical stuff and City midfielder Helen Dermody was eventually forced off following a tackle from behind Jennifer Lowe just before the half-time interval.

Dermody was replaced by Milly Durrant who had been on standby for Wales involvement in the Algarve Cup, and she had only been on for eight minutes when she latched onto a through ball. Walsh came out and missed the ball and Durrant duly stroked the ball into the empty net.

Courtney Sweetman-Kirk (pictured above) had taken her fair share of kicks from a Villa team who were losing the plot and the striker had to be replaced by Kim Farrow in the 67th minute.

McKenna had a header saved resulting from the free kick which forced Sweetman-Kirk off as City went looking for a second goal.

In the 86th minute, Villa had a free kick which led to a corner. Petrovic''s header was cleared off the line by Callen Barber and the ball was sent up to Kim Farrow.

She got to the byline and delivered an inch perfect cross for the diving Kerry Bartlett to head home and book City''s place against Leeds United, who won 6-1 at Watford this afternoon in the Fourth Round next Sunday.
