'Coventry Ladies FC Appeal for Female Coaches'

Following a highly successful season, Coventry City Ladies Football Club are busy preparing for the forthcoming 07-08 season.

Assistant Centre of Excellence Director Michelle Hickmott has been charged with appointing four female coaches to work with girls in the U10, U12, U14, and U16 age groups who will increase their training to two nights next season.

This is due to the increasing success of the Centre who has developed some talented footballers for the reserve and first teams. After finishing second in the Midland Combination, there is increased confidence that the forthcoming season will be a promotion winning one to the Northern Premiership.

A combination of financial investment and careful succession planning will ensure the club establish themselves there and make the final charge for the National Premiership within three seasons. Each squad will have three dedicated coaches who will not only focus on developing footballing talent but nutritional, teamwork and health subjects essential to athletes growing up in a demanding sporting environment. The club is very conscious that players should combine their sporting ability with work in the community, further education and life after football in business!

The new female coaches will work alongside Michelle and Director Stuart Wilson and will be paid for their time attending coaching sessions and matches in the Centre of Excellence league. They must be qualified to level two and ideally be former players, teachers but must be footballing ambassadors!

England International Michelle Hickmott commented "It's very important that we bring more female coaches to the club who are committed to developing Coventry City Ladies FC players to the best of their ability. I'd love to play alongside a Coventry player at an International level, and that's what I've been charged with doing. In increasing our training program, I feel sure we can make this a reality and in future seasons welcome the big guns of ladies football like Arsenal and Charlton to Coventry City. Not only will we develop the players, we're also committed to developing and financially supporting coach's qualifications, so it's a real incentive to joining us"

Chairman David Singleton "We're determined to invest as much resource as possible into player development and become the leading ladies football club in the Midlands.

We have come so far in recent season and so many of our junior players have become motivated by seeing the first team play at The Ricoh twice last season and they want a slice of the action in season to come! We must bring on and develop female coaches and those coming on board will not only get paid for their time, have great fun watching the players grow and have the opportunity to develop themselves too"

Interested female Coaches should e-mail their CV's to Michelle at michellehickmott@bcfds.com and cclfc@hotmail.com.
