City Issue Statement Following Waggott's Comments

Coventry City have issued the following clarifying statement after some supporters, according to the Coventry Telegraph's Aiden McCartney, objected to comments made by CEO Steve Waggott about the need to sell more season tickets.

The club said in a statement: "Season ticket sales are of paramount importance to the budget Tony Mowbray has to spend on the pitch ahead of the 2015/16 League One season.

"Comments from the club yesterday were only to reinforce this fact as we're still 15% off our season ticket target which, under the Salary Cost Management Protocol, will negatively impact on the product we can put on the pitch."
