City are one of four clubs interesting in taking Portsmouth and England U21 defender Gary O'Neill on loan. City,Burnley, Gillingham and Sunderland all have enquired as to his availabilty. Pompey boss Harry Redknapp said: "I'm sure there are plenty of teams who want to take Gary O'Neil. "I've had several on to me about him already. I won't let him go now but when others are fit I'll make a decision. It could do him good to have a spell away on loan, to get some games under his belt."

Meanwhile,Gerry Taggatt has admitted that he turned down a two year deal with City to sign for Stoke due to the Potters "having more potential in the team."

Graham Barrett played no part in the Republic Of Ireland's 3-0 win over Cyprus. However Claus Jorgensen did play for the Faroe Islands in their 6-0 defeat in Switzerland.
