Coventry City officials are investigating the theft of mascot Sky Blue's Sam kit from the cheerleaders changing room at the Arena sometime between Saturday and Wednesday.

For the game against Stoke City, Sam was forced to borrow Andy Whing's shirt, after discovering the theft worth around £300 which was specially made in Asia.

CCFC Press officer Jo Lumani told the CET: "We're all a little bit baffled as to what anyone would do with an elephant-sized kit. "The kit is specially tailored for Sky Blue Sam, even down to the logos on the front and back. "We're thankful to Andy Whing for the loan of his shirt on Wednesday but I think he has a long way to go before he is Sam-size. "We would be grateful if anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Sam's kit would contact us immediately."

Anyone with information about the elephant-sized outfit should call the club's press office on 0870 421 1987.
