City In Discussions Over Mowbray's Backroom Staff

Coventry City are in discussions with two people that Tony Mowbray wants to add to his backroom staff.

The two are Mark Venus, who has worked with Mowbray with Hibernian, West Bromwich Albion, Celtic and Middlesbrough, after playing with him at Ipswich Town and Mark Proctor who was a first team coach for Mowbray during his time at Hibs and Middlesbrough.

“It’s only natural to want to work with people you know, and that’s not me wanting to move anyone out but more adding to the expertise at the football club,” said Mowbray to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.

I’ve been here eight weeks and had to build new relationships but I’ve worked with some people for ten years and anyone who goes to work wants to have someone who I can trust 100 per cent with everything I do.

“Someone who I can pick the phone up to at any time of the day or night to discuss my thoughts on what we might do at the weekend.

"Let’s wait and see because adding people is an environment where money is tight to start with. I just feel that if I am coming in for a longer period I want to be comfortable in my working environment and knowing I have got the support system around me.”
