City Have Only Beaten Spurs Once In The FA Cup

Coventry City will play Tottenham Hotspur for the fourth time after the sides were paired together in the FA Cup Third Round draw this afternoon.

Of the three previous games, City have only won one and that was the 1987 FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium which saw George Curtis and John Sillett's side triumph 3-2 after extra time.

The Sky Blues went down to a 3-1 defeat at White Hart Lane on February 14th 1981 and twenty years later, Spurs won 2-0 at Highfield Road on Wednesday January 16th in a re-arranged tie.

Poyet (23) and Ferdinand (52) scored the goals in front of a crowd of 20,833.

The teams that night were: 

City: Hedman, Shaw, Antonelius, Carsley, Breen, Konjic, Edworthy, Betts, Joachim, Boothroyd, Thompson, Subs Quinn, Martinez, Delorge.

Spurs: Sullivan, Davies, Tarrico, Perry, Richards, King, Anderton, Sherwood, Ferdinand, Rebrov, Poyet. Subs Iversen, Leonhardsen.
