Coventry City have faced Birmingham City in the League Cup before.
The sides have been paired together in the second round of this year's competition with the game likely to be at the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday August 28th subject to the demands of television etc and have met once before.
That was back on September 18th 1996 when City drew 1-1 at Highfield Road. Six days later, City won 1-0 at St Andrews.
