Coventry City are fourteenth into the Championship table after the fixtures tonight.

Leaders Wolves lost 1-0 at second placed Reading with third placed Birmingham City beating Derby, whom the Sky Blues visit on Saturday 1-0 with the goal coming from former Sky Blue Lee Carsley in the 59th minute.

Fourth placed Sheffield United lost 1-0 to Doncaster Rovers,who moved out of the bottom three above Derby County.

Fifth placed Preston North End lost 4-1 at Swansea City whilst QPR moved up to seventh with a 3-0 win at Blackpool. Ninth placed Burnley lost 3-0 at Watford and Ipswich won 2-1 at Barnsley.

At the bottom of the table, Charlton's first win in 19 matches saw them beat Palace 1-0 and Southampton came back to draw 2-2 at Norwich City.

In League One, Colchester with the injured Jonnie Jackson and Matt Heath beat Northampton for whom Liam Davis played for 63 minutes 2-1.

Andy Morrell scored for Bury in a win against Bradford City.

Stephen Pressley playing for Falkirk in the Scottish League Cup Semi-Final at Hampden Park, made a right hash of a back pass which set up Chris Boyd who scored Rangers third goal of the night without reply.

Locally, Rugby Town snatched a 1-1 draw at Stourbridge with Stone on target in the last minute.

Southern League Midland Division leaders Leamington beat Romulus 2-1. Fagan put the Birmingham based side ahead in the sixth minute but Corbett levelled seven minutes later and Reynolds got the winner for the Brakes in the 74th minute in front of a crowd of 445.

Atherstone Town beat Bromsgrove Rovers 2-0 at Sheepy Road with goals from Mace and Greenway.

In the Midland Alliance. As well as Coventry Sphinx's 3-3 draw with Alvechurch, Stratford Town drew 0-0 at Barwell but Racing Club Warwick were thrashed 7-1 at Coalville Town.

In a third round Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Cup tie, goals from Jones and Unitt gave Southam United a 2-1 home wn over Castle Vale.
