City Down To Ninth

Coventry City are down to ninth in the Championship table after their 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town this afternoon.

The big news in the Championship today was the sacking of George Burley whose side lost 3-0 at Millwall in the South London derby at the New Den. Palace are second bottom and play bottom side Preston who sacked Darren Ferguson this week and today lost 2-1 at home to Derby on Monday.

League leaders QPR stay top despite a 1-0 defeat at Norwich City who are now in third. Swansea's 1-0 win over Reading lifts them into second.

Leeds were held 1-1 at home by Middlesbrough and are fourth and Cardiff have dropped to fifth after a 3-0 defeat at Bristol City with Watford who beat Portsmouth 3-0 in sixth

Micky Adams first game as Sheffield United manager, started with a 4-2 defeat at Burnley, whilst Doncaster beat Scunthorpe 3-0, Leicester won 1-0 at Hull City and Notts Forest drew 2-2 with Barnsley who City travel to on Monday.
