Coventry City are down to eleventh after the 2-0 defeat at Norwich City this afternoon.

Watford are still top despite being beaten 3-2 away at Barnsley for whom Martin Devaney scored. Second placed Charlton won 2-0 at Preston to spoil Alan Irvine's day and send the Lillywhites into the bottom three.

Burnley,who appointed Owen Coyle as their new boss in midweek drew 0-0 with Stoke. Plymouth Argyle are up to fourth after a 1-0 win at Sheffield United.

Scunthorpe,who travel to the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday night lost 2-1 at home to Hull City and there were wins for Southampton for whom Stern John got the winner, Cardiff and Palace.

Lee Hughes scored twice for Oldham in a 3-0 win at Bournemouth
