City Determined To Keep No Ricoh Postponment Record

Coventy City are determined to maintain their record of not having a game at the Ricoh Arena postponed.

John Ledwidge and his Groundstaff have been working on the pitch which City trained on today to ensure that the FA Cup Third Round Replay against Portsmouth tomorrow night goes ahead.

Again, the undersoil heating is on and the thaw will ensure that access roads to the Ricoh Arena are even easier to access.

Speaking to the club website, the Ricoh Arena Facilities Director Anthony Mundy said: "The FA Cup tie against Portsmouth is definitely on unless there are any major changes to the weather - but that is not predicted.

"The grounds staff and stewards worked through the night on Friday to make sure the pitch was playable and the car-parks and pavements cleared

"We have received numerous emails from supporters, and in particular disabled fans, praising our efforts to make the pathways as snow and frost free as possible.

"These efforts will again be repeated today and tomorrow ahead of the game. The car-parks have been covered by the snow which fell on Sunday night but these will be gritted in time for kick-off.

"I would like to thank the sterling efforts of everyone behind the scenes for playing their part ahead of Saturday's 3-1 win over Barnsley and for their determination to ensure that once again our game beats the big freeze in the FA Cup.

"We have never had a game postponed at the Ricoh Arena since we moved here in 2005 and that is a record we are determined to continue."
