Coventry City's central defender Richard Wood, who played in the JPT game against Burton Albion last Tuesday in which the side kept a clean sheet, is in confident mood that the elusive first win of the season will come against Stevenage on Sunday.

Stevenage visit The Ricoh on Sunday and Wood is desperate for his side to get their first win of the season and while he is confident he is not complacent.

Wood said to the CT's Andy Turner: “We are desperate to get our first win and it’s going to come on Sunday. We’ll be ready.

“We’ve got a few days to prepare for it. We know it will be tough because every game is, but we also know we’ve got the quality in the side. We have to play at the tempo I have been talking about and get the right result.

“We have to be solid at the back. I was pleased with the clean sheet the other night and we have to take that into Sunday as well and make sure we concentrate for the full 90 minutes."
