City Council Discussing With City New Stadium Sites

Last updated : 19 March 2019 By CNS Sport

Coventry City are in talks with Coventry City Council about new stadium sites according to the Coventry Observer Editor Les Reid.

In their public statement last week, Sisu had demanded to be allocated land for a new stadium whilst the Council demanded that Sisu show they are serious about any such stadium.

According to Mr Reid's tweets:  "George Duggins, council leader, just told a full council meeting, that ‘even today’ council officers are meeting with Coventry City for prelim talks on new stadium sites, as previously. He re-iterated Sisu should drop legals as trade off to stay at Ricoh.

“Specifically, he talked about meeting “agents” of #CCFC today & on previous occasions, repeating his insistence that Coventry City or owners #sisu should first table any proposal for a new stadium & that a planning application would be handled in a neural & professional way.”
