City confirm interest in Eastwood

Coventry City manager Andy Thorn has confirmed that the club has had one enquiry about striker Freddy Eastwood, who has been told he is free to leave the club and that he will not be offered a new contract when his current one expires in the summer.

Bournemouth made an enquiry about taking Eastwood on loan for the rest of the season, but they could not afford his wages, or even to pay a decent part of them, so any deal floundered before it even got off the ground.

There does not appear to be any other interest from other clubs at the present time, so it looks as if Eastwood will be staying at Coventry until the summer.

Eastwood scored in yesterdays reserve friendly  3-1 win at Leicester. Shaun Jeffers scored City's other two goals.
