Coventry City have had a bid for Conor Chaplin rejected by Portsmouth FC.
City are being reported as having had an initial £250k bid for the man Mark Robins sees as the replacement for Marc McNulty.
The Sky Blues were hoping of having the deal concluded today (Monday) but will have to come back with an improved offer if they are to land the striker.
