Coventry City manager Mark Robins has set his players a fifty point target, which they can achieve with results at Sheffield United and Yeovil in their next home league game

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: Robins said: “Our league position is a little bit false in terms of the games played but I’d rather have the points on the board,” said Robins, whose side are in eighth place on 44 points after 30 games while their nearest play-off rivals, including the Blades, have two games in hand.

"They have got players who are capable and they’re up there for a reason.

"They are four points in front of us and should we win the game we come within a point of them and we get more points on the board towards that 50 point total and then we’ll look and reassess and see what’s what.

“We’re in there fighting and around the vicinity that we want to be, and we know what we have got to do.

"The players are aware of what they have to do so we need to make sure we’re in the right frame of mind and make sure we’ve got the players who have the mindset on the pitch to take the three points.

“We have got to have a final push, we’ve got a 16-game season in terms of the league and we have to pick up as many points as we can do.

“We could end up with a really good season and it’s important we embrace that challenge head on, starting tonight. The games can’t come quick enough at the moment because they’re enjoying it.

"That’s the main thing that they go up there and enjoy it and see what happens.”
