City Boss Reckon Takeover Could Be Soon

Iain Dowie is hoping that the takeover by Manhatten Sports Captial Partners could be settled in as little as a fortnight.
"Everyone feels a sense of frustration because for the club to take the next step to get where it is going it needs that long-term future," said Dowie to the CT.

"It is very difficult for someone like Geoffrey Robinson to keep bankrolling the club. "We thought it would be there by the end of June but it is looking like it could be another two weeks, who knows, but I want to cocoon the players from that because that is not going to be an excuse for us. "We would love to have had that. But we feel we have operated in the market quite well."

The City boss knows that he is going to have to reduce the size of the squad to make way for the rest of the players he wants and commented: "I am sure there will be a few that go out but what we have got is a good structure of man management and we treat people right and don't just cast people aside.

"I imagine there will be some movement. "How much, we will see. It all depends on injuries and the takeover I suppose."
