City Boss Calls For Deal To Be Done

Coventry City manager Mark Robins has urged all parties to sort out the current row over a deal for the Ricoh Arena.

Talks between City’s owners SISU, Ricoh Arena Owners Arena Coventry Limited and The Alan Edward Higgs Charity, who own a fifty per cent share in the Arena after being sold the Sky Blue’s entitlement in 2004, have broken down and the City boss, like many supporters, is called for all concerned to get together and sort out a mess which has been worsened by SISU’s refusal to pay rent.

Robins told the Coventry Telegraph’s Andy Turner: “When I first came in one of the questions I was asking was ‘what’s the way forward for the stadium’ because it’s absolutely imperative that we are able to generate revenue from it.

“The supporters will certainly rise to that and be more liable to come and spend time and their money at the stadium if the club are going to benefit. It’s a knock-on effect and we need to do that to build the football club – there’s no doubt about it.

“We need all the key stakeholders in the same room thrashing out a deal. I am not interested in the politics, I’m just interested in a successful Coventry City football club and that has got to be the priority.”
