According to this morning's Coventry Telegraph, Coventry City and Crewe Alexandra will pocket around £100,000 each from their Johnstones Paint Trophy Northern Area Final.

Both sides will get 45% each of the gate which is expected to generate around £150k from the February 5th First Leg at the Ricoh Arena if Crewe increase their sales of 700 to take the figure past the thirty thousand mark.

The second leg at Gresty Road is expected to generate around £27,000.

City CEO Tim Fisher told the Coventry Telegraph:“We would – in an ideal world – like to keep every penny from every game but sadly we can’t!

“We also have to remember that at times – when we play at bigger clubs in other competitions - we can benefit disproportionately.

“We are just delighted that City supporters have reacted so positively and that we will have such great support on the night.”
