Cyrus Christie has declared himself available for selection for Coventry City's FA Cup First Round tie at AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday night.
The defender suffered ankle damage in the 1-0 win at Stevenage but has recovered and was on the bench for the 3-0 win over Notts County on Saturday.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Christie said:“It’s nice to be back,” said the 21-year-old defender , who is two weeks ahead of schedule in his recovery from an injury to his left ankle.
“The gaffer spoke to me on Thursday afternoon and asked if I would be on the bench just in case and I said I would be more than happy to do that.
"At the time I didn’t feel ready to start but on the Friday my ankle was perfectly fine and I felt ready to go if called upon.
“I spoke to the physio, Dave Hart, and he told me to get in a week’s training ahead of the FA Cup game so that’s my target now.
“I wasn’t even supposed to be training this week so I can’t thank Dave enough for the work he’s put into my rehab because it has made my ankle stronger and there’s no pain in it.
“I will get a good week in and if the gaffer wants to start me on Friday then I’ll look forward to it.
“I was meant to be out for six weeks so I am two weeks ahead of that and hopefully I’ll do well in training and get back in the team.”
