Christie And Clarke Are Happy - Pressley

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that defender Cyrus Christie and striker Leon Clarke are happy at the club.

Huddersfield Town made a couple of bids for Christie whilst Sheffield United also tried to obtain Leon Clarke but with neither of the Yorkshire club's able to match City's valuations, the duo thankfully remain important parts of the Sky Blues squad.

Speaking to Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, City boss Steven Pressley said:“There’s always a concern of that happening but I have a good relationship with Cyrus and Leon and I spoke to both of them yesterday and both understand, and I think are really happy at the football club.

“Like any footballer they are ambitious but I am very easy with the situation because often when things like this happen you can get unhappy players but there was no sign of that when I spoke to them.

“They were both in really good spirits and I think that’s because they respect what we’re trying to do here and respect the fact that the club have been very good with them too.

“I think what helps is that there’s a great spirit in the squad. The players are really close just now.

“Cyrus is very close with a number of players who have come through which makes it easy for him. Leon is an integral part of the squad and leader within the squad and feels very comfortable within the group just now.

“They are happy with their work just now and close to the rest of the group which makes it easy just now.”
