Coventry City defender Cyrus Christie has said that he would love to stay at City but also he wants to test himself at the highest levels of the game.

Christie is out of contract on June 30th and told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “I need to sit down and have a talk and clarify the future of the club because it’s not the most ideal situation at the minute.

“These things happen in football. I’m not going to beat about the bush and say I’m going to stay, but anything can change.

“I’d love to stay but I also want to play at the highest level and when opportunities come around sometimes you have to take them because they don’t always come back round again.

“Hopefully people will recognise I have done a good job for the club over the last three years I have played.

"I can’t thank the fans enough for all their support in the 120 odd games or so I have played.

"It has been a fantastic experience with a lot of ups and downs but it’s been a great character building lesson for me and the rest of the lads, and I just want to thank the fans for all their support for me, which has been fantastic.”
