Change Your Stewards - Burnley urged

Burnley FC have been advised to change the company providing stewarding at home matches.

Coventry supporters were irate at the jobsworth attitude and incompetence of the stewards employed by the Rocksteady Event Security company during the Sky Blues clash at Turf Moor.

After moving all the City supporters high up into the David Fishlock Stand and then herding them into a central block. Their oppressive manner resulted in two ejections at the interval. One for drunkeness which no-one had a problem with.

However, the other supporter was not given a satisfactory answer for his ejection and attempts to ascertain the reason why he was ejected resulted in a strong of lies,half-truths and buck passing from the stewards and police who had insisted that Coventry police officers were not needed at the game.

One supporter said "These stewards are a disgrace and it was as if they had to eject at least a couple of City supporters just to keep their rates up and justify the numbers that they had.

"There was no need to eject one of the pair and the treatment he received from stewards who were not even 100% certain they had got the right person was scandalous. "

"The company providing these stewards are a bad reflection on Burnley FC who we know to be a decent club and we feel sorry for the home supporters who have to put up with these thugs at every home match."
