BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION
A side always expected to be amongst the strugglers. Hopefully, they'll get the permission they need for their new stadium at Falmer and can build the club from there. They escaped relegation just last season and should just do it again.

BURNLEY
Steve Cotterill's side seem to slot into mid table nicely and thats where they will finish again.

CARDIFF CITY
For a club who nearly went bust last season,David Jones has been doing plenty of wheeler-dealing in the transfer market. Has he got the players in to lift the Bluebirds up to anything other than a mid table slot, time will tell

COVENTRY CITY
Don't expect too much were Micky Adams comments and he is right. For the Sky Blues,a long hard slog is once again the prospect but a mid table finish should satisfy most supporters

CREWE ALEXANDRA
A side which would not even be in this division if the Sky Blues had not been so generous on the last day of the season. Widely tipped for the drop and we're not going to disagree.

CRYSTAL PALACE
Being relegated from the Prem last season will make them amongst the favourites to go back up. A play-off place at least for the Eagles.

DERBY COUNTY
Phil Brown may not be a massive name in the football world but he has a lot to do to match the efforts of George Burley last season. Mid table this season we reckon.

HULL CITY
A third promotion in successive years is the target for Peter Taylor's side. However, Hull will find that this is a tough division and they may have to wait another year or two to get to the promised land.

IPSWICH TOWN
A lapse in form cost the Tractor Boys promotion last season but they will again be around when it's time for the play-offs

LEEDS UNITED
Despite massive debts, Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell is still spending. They finished mid table last season but should improve slightly this time round.

LEICESTER CITY
Solidly mid table last season and if Craig Levin can achieve the same tihs season then he won't have done a bad job.

LUTON TOWN
An interesting season ahead for Mike Newall and his boys. Staying in the Championship has to be their main goal.

MILLWALL
Favourites for relegation under Steve Claridge, New boss Colin Lee may be able to turn things round but he'll have to be shrewd in the transfer market to replace some of the players who moved during the summer.

NORWICH CITY
Nigel Worthington has not had to sell after relegation and the Canaries will fancy their chances of a swift return to the Prem.

PLYMOUTH ARGYLE
Could be an outside bet for a play-off place but expect the Pilgrims to either finish in mid-table.

PRESTON NORTH END
A side who did well under Billy Davies last term and could again prosper under him

QUEENS PARK RANGERS
Another side whose lapse in form left them in mid table, an outside bet for a play-off spot.

READING
Another side with potential but can they utilise it?

SHEFFIELD UNITED
The Blades have finished in eight spot in the last two seasons and will do well to achieve that for a third year running.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY
After being promoted,Paul Sturrock's side will look to consolidate this time round and the Scot has been buying defenders to help the cause.

SOUTHAMPTON
Relegated last season but look to be title favourites this time round,so City supporters had better get to St Mary's on March 4th or face a few more years wait.

STOKE CITY
Will a foreigner do what Tony Pullis couldn't with the Icelandic board keeping a tight rein on the purse strings, the Potters could suffer this season.

WATFORD
Adrian Boothroyd will have his work cut out this season to keep the Hornet supporters buzzing.

WOLVES
Glenn Hoddle will be looking for improvement after steadying the ship last term, but may again not make the play-offs.
