Chamber Of Commerce Offer Support

The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber Of Commerce have offered their support to the Sky Blues in their hours of need.

Like the Sky Blue Trust, they have met with representatives from the Council,ACL,Higgs Trust and City to see if the club can be saved from administration or liquidation.

Chamber President Darren Jones said to the CT: "We have obviously got a vested interested in the football club because a lot of our members will be creditors. ""But as well as that, we have got a thriving city and we want to see a feel-good factor which comes with having a successful football club.

"Things have been pretty acrimonious over the last few weeks with a very public blame game going on so we wanted to see if there was anything we could do to bring the different bodies together.

"So we have had meetings with all those involved and we feel that everyone really is now singing off the same hymn sheet and working to see if there is anything they can do to help the club's plight.

"Everyone loves Joe Elliott who is trying his hardest to get the club out of a hole and the last thing anyone wants to see is administration or relegation because that would effect hundreds of jobs in the city. "A lot of companies and people support the football club in terms of a supply chain, including things like catering staff and food suppliers."

"We all enjoyed the feelgood factor back in 1987 when they won the FA Cup and more recently in the days after the Sky Blues beat Manchester United the other week.

"People doing business out of town feel proud to be from the city and when they say where they are from, one of the first things people have been mentioning is that great result, so it has been a good ice breaker to do business."
