Coventry City new defender Kevin Kilbane has said that it was Lee Carsley and Andy Thorn who sold the Sky Blues to him.

Speaking to Sky Blue Player, the highly capped Republic Of Ireland international who was a free agent after his contract at Hull City expired and has joined City on a one year deal said: "I've come to a really good club and I'm really looking forward to getting it going next season. I spoke to a number of clubs over the summer about various roles but Coventry just really appealed to me.

"I spoke to Lee Carsley and Andy Thorn at length about it and they really sold it to me. I know that the club has dropped down to League One but I have been really impressed by the side.

"The core of the team has a lot of potential and with the squad being quite young as well, the future is looking good. I have been brought in as part of seeing that potential through.

"I really feel like I'm going to be part of something successful next season and I am more than confident we can achieve this year."
