Carroll To Play Despite Arrest

Andy Carroll is included in Newcastle United's squad for the trip to Coventry City's Ricoh Arena on Wednesday night despite being arrested.

The England U21 international, who scored twice at the Ricoh Arena earlier this season for England U21's was arrested in the early hours on on suspicion of occasioning actual bodily harm, following a fight which saw a man needing hospital treatmentat  at a club in Newcastle's Bigg Market called the Blu Bamboo.

Newcastle boss Chris Hughton said to the media: “He is available and in the squad, but no further comment.”

Newcastle danger man Kevin Nolan will miss the game which kicks off at 7.45pm.
