Carl Baker Back At City

Last updated : 11 November 2014 By CCFPA

The Coventry City Former Players Association are delighted to announce that popular former Sky Blues captain Carl Baker is making an early return to the Ricoh this time as the Association’s ‘special guest’.

‘Bakes’ will be at the Arena to watch the Sky Blues take on Plymouth Argyle in their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Quarter Final tie on Wednesday 12th November 2014. This will be his first time back since leaving the Club earlier this year and signing for League One rivals MK Dons (who are no longer involved in the competition freeing up Carl to return for this important evening game).

Carl has also only very recently ‘signed up’ for the Association (left)  so it will be a pleasure to see him again so soon after his recruitment. He is sure to receive a warm welcome from all at the stadium since he was not only a hard working and skilful player at the Club but could always be relied upon to support community and charity initiatives in Coventry (where he still lives).

He will, no  doubt, look forward to meeting as many former colleagues in the Sky Blue squad and management including fellow CCFPA member Steve Ogrizovic on the day as well as renewing his bond with many members of the Sky Blue Army.

If you are planning to go to the game look out for Carl around the lounges at the Ricoh before the game and if you aren’t able to get to the Arena why not listen to him for he is hoped to be part of the BBC C&W Radio match commentary team during the game. After the game we also hope to get him down to the G-Casino where Sky Blue fans can see him ‘lightly grilled’ in a Q&A conducted by CCFPA Vice Chairman Billy Bell on the stage of Lady G’s. All are welcome!
