Callum Davenport Stabbed

Former Coventry City defender Callum Davenport was stabbed along with his mother at his home in Beford late last night.

Davenport, whom City sold to Spurs for £1.1m after coming through the club ranks, has injuries described as serious by hospital staff and is undergoing surgery on both legs whilst his mother who was also stabbed is said to be recovering from her injuries.

Davenport is currently on the books of West Ham United who have released a statement saying: "The club's medical team are in contact with hospital staff.

"Due to the ongoing police investigation, no further information will be released at this time.

"The thoughts of everyone at West Ham are with Calum and his family."
