Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has praised his front runners in Leon Clarke and Callum Wilson.

The pair have nine goals between them so far this season and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole, the City boss said: “Callum Wilson and Leon Clarke have formed a magnificent partnership up front – they’re such a handful with Leon’s intelligence and Callum’s pace.

“Callum has five goals now and Leon has four and he’s very unlucky not to have got at least two more today. He’s such an important player for us and just now i can’t speak highly enough of him because he is working so hard for the team.

“He’s a tremendous example to our youngsters and that is rubbing off on Callum in particular because you can see how it’s helping him to develop his game.

“And then Mathieu Manset comes on and scores the equaliser. I’m really pleased for him because we told him what he needed to do in terms of his fitness if he wanted to be considered for a first-team place and he’s done exactly that.

“We need players who can maintain the tempo we want to play at – he’s not quite there yet but he’s working really hard to get to those levels.”
