The news Coventry City supporters did not want to hear has happened. Stephen Bywater has been recalled by West Ham United and has had to return to East London immediately.

The keeper who joined City two days before the opening game against Norwich made thirteen appearances for the Sky Blues and was popular amongst City supporters. Micky Adams will have to field his only senior keeper in Clayton Ince for the trip to Leicester City on Sunday with Jonny Tuffey who returns from action with Northern Ireland U19's in Cork tomorrow on the bench.

Said boss Micky Adams: "We're obviously very disappointed Stephen has been recalled but we have to get on with it. "It leaves us very short of cover but it gives a great opportunity to Clayton, who is obviously very experienced."
