Birmingham City are according to reports, close to signing Ben Foster from Manchester United, meaning that speculation linking them with Coventry City keeper Keiren Westwood is at an end.

The former Racing Club Warwick keeper, signed a four year contract at Old Trafford last season after joining them from Stoke City in 2005, but is down the pecking order and has hinted that he may be on his way.

The BBC are reporting that a fee of £4m has been muted as Birmingham City, who had an excellent first season back in the top flight, look to replace loanee keeper Joe Hart for next season.
