Birmingham City and Sunderland were today promoted to the FA Premier League.
Derby County needed to win at Crystal Palace but goals from Morrison and Kennedy gave the Eagles a 2-0 win this afternoon and means that Billy Davies' side will have to compete for promotion via the play-offs.
Former Sky Blues Dean Leacock and Darren Currie played in the match at Selhurst Park.
The impending promotion is good news for the Sky Blues who should get some money as part of the deal which saw Gary McSheffrey move to St Andrews for £2.325m.
