Coventry City director Leonard Brody has responded to reports that he had to apologise to the club chairman ray Ranson after making comments on the social networking site Twitter.
In his original Tweets, Brody appeared to suggest, contrary to previous reports, that Mr Ranson authorised the transfer of teenage prodigy Conor Thomas to Liverpool.
In a statement, appropriately made on Twitter, Brody claimed his comments had been "misconstrued" and that it was an "utter shame."
In a Tweet, Brody wrote, "Just wanted to clarify my post the other day regarding the Thomas deal. An utter shame this was misconstrued."
"The sale of Conor was a decision made by the entire board as a group. That was always the case."
"My only point that I was making was that we fully support and respect Ray on everything he does and all things football. Full stop."
In the wake of the transfer of Thomas to Liverpool, it emerged that vice chairman Gary Hoffman resigned in protest and that Mr Ranson was also against the move, but the pair were out voted.
It is now understood that the decision to allow Thomas to leave the club for Liverpool for between £500k and £1m depending on who you believe was a 3-2 vote with Mr Ranson Mr Hoffman voting against the move and the Sisu appointed directors Brody, Onye Igwe and Dulieu all voting for the move.
