Hibernian midfielder Guillaume Beuzelin has agreed to join Coventry City on a two-year deal.

The 29-year-old made 117 appearances in four seasons for the Easter Road outfit after joining them in 2004, winning the Scottish League Cup in 2006/07 as well as helping them qualify for the UEFA Cup with a third place finish in the SPL during his first season there.

The Frenchman made 29 appearances last term for the Edinburgh based club who finished fifth in the Scottish top flight and explained how he is relishing the opportunity to test himself in English football.

"I am delighted to be signing for Coventry," he said. "I am very excited about next season to the club website.

"It is another step in my career. I had four very good years in Scotland and I am very excited about this new challenge."

Beuzelin started his career at Le Havre and having been linked with a move to several other English sides, Chris Coleman believes he has made a valuable addition to his squad.

"We tried to sign him during the last transfer window but missed out," said the Sky Blues boss. "He's someone I've admired for a long time and he's a very good player.

"He's brave with the ball and he's great at starting attacks from the midfield. We weren't the only admirers of him so we're lucky to have him here.

"I spoke with Guillaume and he liked what we had to say and I'm delighted he's here. The fans will find out what a good player he is once he pulls on a sky blue jersey.

"We want players who won't settle for mediocrity and won't be happy finishing where we did last year and I'm confident that in Guillaume we've got one of those players."

Beuzelin added that Coleman had a huge influence on his decision to choose Coventry over other clubs.

"The manager spoke to me and he impressed me. He has got a big reputation and he is very motivated for next season. I can't wait to play and show the fans what I can do on the pitch."
