Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has said that he wants Marlon King to stay at the Sky Blues next season.

King netted his third goal in three succesive matches for City last night against Nottingham Forest and was the clear man of the match again.

Speaking about King who will be out on contract on June 30th and has been attracting interest and whether he would like him to stay, Boothroyd said: "Very much so I've started looking at beyond this season, I think we've got to keep all our best players."

King has not been offered a new contract and asked whether he will be or not, Boothroyd said; "That will be a board decision and my recommendation would be 'absolutely'.

"Tie him down and do it because he's a terrific player and he's shown that - whether he's playing badly, well or indifferent - his work-rate is outstanding and that's what I expect from my players and that's why he works the way he does because we've been together for such a long time.

"Yes, I would be hopeful he would stay. He likes working with me and I like working with him so if there's something to be done there, then we perhaps would do well to act on it."
