Coventry City travel to Scunthorpe on Saturday in confident, but not complacent mood to take on the club that has one of the worst home records in the Championship this season.
In the past Coventry City have traditionally stuttered at some of the smaller grounds like Glanford Park, but so far this season they have had a bit more grit and determination which has seen the Sky Blues win at grounds where, in the past they have had a very poor record.
However Boothroyd doesn't think that because of their poor home record Scunthorpe will roll over and submit to defeat and is preparing his side for a hard fought battle.
When asked if he thought his players would be encouraged by The Iron's poor home record he said, “No, because I think that Scunthorpe’s home record is not a true reflection of the way they have played and results they have had. "
“They are a very good team and I know Ian Baraclough and Steve Parkin very well because I used to play with them both at Mansfield and I think it will be our hardest game yet because they have got a great spirit, they are organised and they are a very good counter attacking team."
"So if we think for a second that we have arrived then we will be beaten, so we have got to be right at it on Saturday to get anything from the game. Jonathan Forte is a good player, Chris Dagnall is as well. They have got a good midfield which is very creative and industrious, and it will be a tough game.”
“I think big time Charlies possible struggle to cope at grounds like that but the way the Championship is, any team can beat anyone and we don’t take anyone for granted, and anyone who does is stupid.
“I like going to places like Scunthorpe because they are proper football grounds. They have done brilliantly well as a club. They punch above their weight every year and I think that’s how you judge managers and chairmen and clubs, whether they are punching above their weight or whether they are under achieving, but I think Scunthorpe have consistently over achieved over the last few years."
