Coventry City boss Aidy Boothroyd was forced into making changes to his defence because of injuries and a run of three straight defeats, but the resulting clean sheet drew praise form the City boss.

Richard Wood played at left back while Nathan Cameron and James McPake played together for the first time in the centre of the defence.

Boothroyd said after the game to the CT: "We've played a lot better than that and lost, the last three games, for instance, but you take what you can get."

"I was hoping for a performance and we didn't get that, far from it, but the Championship is the tightest league there is and sometimes you have to rely on organisation and discipline to get you through. That's what we had, which is why Keiren Westwood got his clean sheet and we managed to grind out a result against a very good team."

"It's the first time Nathan (Cameron) and James (McPake) have played together in the first team and they did a great job for us. James is coming back from injury and he needs a few more games to be at his best, but I can see what everybody said about him, what a good player he is, a real warrior."

"Nathan has been excellent in training and he is a real credit to the Academy for the players they've brought through. He's still very young and he's got a lot to learn but we think he's going to go all the way to the top."

"I asked Woody to play at left back and he gave me a very steady performance, although if he ever goes on an overlap like that again when we're 1-0 up in the in the last minute of a game I'll get a gun and shoot him! It's good to see that enthusiasm but it all got a bit gung ho at the end. I'm not saying we should go all Italian and park the bus in front of the goal but I do think we need to be a little bit cleverer than we were."
